Single Baby Boomers Dating

Don’t stay at home and
watch TV every night!

Sandy Dumont is a Boomer herself, so she understands the ins and outs of Boomer dating. Here are a few tips to help you get on the road to being noticed, so that you will be able to form more friendships and get more dates with other Seniors like yourself.

  1. Join as many clubs and groups as possible. Other “dating Boomers ” may be shy, and they may be members of only one or two clubs or organizations that let them pursue their hobbies. Popular hobbies include bridge, canasta, bingo, bowling, golf, gardening, flower arranging and walking. Check your local newspapers for the activities of area clubs and organizations. 2. Be a volunteer with the hospital, museum or some other worthwhile organization. You are likely to meet other “dating baby boomers ” who are also volunteers – or staff members.

  3. Because other Boomers are interested in health, put up a notice on the bulletin board of health food shops, so that other dating baby boomers will know about you. On your notice, mention that you are looking for someone to engage in whatever hobbies you enjoy.

  4. Baby Boomers interested in dating other boomers may be doing some of the exact things listed above, so check out all the bulletin boards in your local grocery stores, pet shops. We love our pets, because they are good company and can also serve as watchdogs – or “watch cats.”

  5. If you already have a pet, leave a notice at your local pet stores and mention that you are interested in getting together with other Boomers who might also be pet lovers. And who doesn’t love house pets?

  6. Attend all your own class reunions, and ask friends if you could come along as a guest to their class reunions. That way you may run into other dating baby boomers that are close to your age, and consequently, have much in common with you.

  7. Join the local widow and widowers club. Most of the members are likely to be boomers, and these clubs usually arrange lots of social activities.

  8. Don’t stay at home and watch television every night. Volunteer to be an usher at the local symphony or opera house. That way, you can kill two birds with one stone. You will have entertainment that is far superior to television, and you are likely to encounter other boomers who don’t like to sit home every night and watch television!
